Mission Consulting Group LLC, operating under the name MISSION, (“us,” “we,” or “our”), operates the www.missionaccountinghelp.com website (the “Service”).

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use our Service, and explains the privacy rights available to you depending on where you live. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Definitions

  • Service — the www.missionaccountinghelp.com website operated by Mission Consulting Group LLC.
  • Personal Data / Personal Information — information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with a particular individual or household.
  • Sensitive Personal Information — certain categories of personal information subject to heightened protection under applicable law, such as Social Security numbers, financial account information, tax identification numbers, and precise geolocation. Given the nature of our services, financial and tax-related information you provide is treated as sensitive personal information under this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Personal Data You Provide

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide personal information that can be used to contact or identify you, including:

  • First name and last name

  • Address, state, province, ZIP/postal code, city

The Service is primarily used to schedule consultations, submit contact or intake forms, and learn about our services. Information submitted through our “Schedule a Consult” contact form or our email newsletter signup is sent to ActiveCampaign, our CRM/email marketing platform, as described in Section 8. If you engage us for accounting, bookkeeping, or advisory services, you may separately provide financial and tax-related information (such as tax documents, financial statements, or account details) through channels outside of this website — including our secure client portal (ShareFile), Dropbox, or occasionally email. That information is governed by the confidentiality terms of your engagement agreement in addition to this Privacy Policy, and is not collected or stored through www.missionaccountinghelp.com itself.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how the Service is accessed and used, including your device’s IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, time and date of visit, time spent on pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (including web beacons, tags, and scripts) to operate, secure, and improve the Service, and to support analytics and advertising as described in Section 6 below.

SMS / Text Messaging Communications

Mission Consulting Group LLC, operating under the name MISSION, may send SMS text messages to individuals who have provided their mobile phone number and expressly opted in to receive such messages.

How You Opt In

You may opt in to receive SMS messages from us by:

  • Providing your mobile phone number when booking a discovery call, submitting a contact form, or completing an intake form on our website at https://missionaccountinghelp.com
  • Confirming your consent through the checkbox or acknowledgment language displayed adjacent to the phone number field
  • Verbally providing consent during a phone call, meeting, or client engagement

Types of Messages You May Receive

  • Transactional and Informational: Appointment confirmations, meeting reminders (typically 24 hours and 1 hour before scheduled calls), reschedule notifications, and service-related account updates
  • Occasional Informational Notices: Quarter-end filing reminders, scheduling availability updates, and other service-related communications

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your engagement with us and scheduled appointments. You should not expect to receive more than a few messages per month under normal circumstances.

Message and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier plan. Mission Consulting Group LLC does not charge for SMS messages, but your mobile carrier may.

Opting Out

You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. Once you opt out, you will receive a confirmation message and no further SMS communications, except in response to a HELP request or as required for existing service delivery.

Phone Number Privacy

We do not sell, rent, share, or otherwise transfer your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in consent to any third party or affiliate for their marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers collected for SMS communications are used solely by Mission Consulting Group LLC for the purposes described above.

Mobile information may be shared only with subcontractors and service providers that support our messaging operations (for example, our SMS delivery platform), and these providers are contractually prohibited from using your information for any other purpose.

Supported Carriers

SMS messaging is supported on major U.S. carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected data to:

  • Provide and maintain the Service
  • Notify you about changes to the Service
  • Allow you to participate in interactive features of the Service
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
  • Monitor usage and improve the Service
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical or security issues
  • Send newsletters, marketing, and promotional communications, where permitted and, where required, with your consent
  • Send SMS text messages related to appointments, meeting reminders, and service updates to individuals who have opted in
  • Comply with legal obligations, including tax and accounting recordkeeping requirements applicable to our services

4. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA/UK Visitors)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we process your personal data on one or more of the following legal bases: your consent, performance of a contract with you, compliance with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.

For international transfers of personal data out of the EEA/UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, to the extent applicable.

Mission Consulting Group LLC does not offer language-localized, EU-priced, or EU-targeted versions of the Service, does not direct marketing toward EU or UK residents, and does not accept EU or UK residents as accounting clients. Visits to the Service from the EU/UK reflect incidental traffic (e.g., unsolicited search visits) rather than active solicitation of EU/UK residents. On that basis, we do not currently maintain a designated EU or UK representative or Data Protection Officer under GDPR/UK GDPR Article 27. We will revisit this determination periodically, and promptly if our marketing practices, client base, or EU/UK traffic patterns change. If you believe GDPR or UK GDPR applies to your interaction with us, you may contact us using the details in Section 15.

5. Your Privacy Rights (U.S. State Laws)

Depending on your state of residence, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to know/access — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to delete — request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., recordkeeping required by tax or professional regulations).
  • Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to data portability — receive a copy of your personal information in a portable format.
  • Right to opt out of sale/share — opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, including for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — direct us to limit the use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the Service.
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
  • Right to appeal — if we decline to act on your request, you may appeal the decision using the contact details in Section 15.

How to Exercise Your Rights

You may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may require proof of the agent’s authorization.

We will respond to verified requests within 45 days, with a possible one-time 45-day extension where reasonably necessary, consistent with applicable state law.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell personal information for money. We may, however, share certain identifiers and online activity with advertising partners (such as Google and Meta/Facebook, described in Section 9) in a manner that qualifies as a “sale” or “share” under some state laws. You can opt out at any time using the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer of our website, through our cookie preference center, or by contacting us using the details in Section 15.

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

We recognize the Global Privacy Control browser signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information for browsers/devices where it is enabled, in accordance with applicable state law.

6. Cookie Choices and Consent

Where required by law, we will request your consent through a cookie banner before loading non-essential cookies (such as analytics or advertising cookies). We use CookieYes (free plan) to power our cookie consent banner. You can accept, reject, or customize non-essential cookies at any time through that banner, or by adjusting your browser settings to refuse cookies — though some parts of the Service may not function properly without them.

Types of cookies we use:

  • Session Cookies — to operate the Service.
  • Preference Cookies — to remember your settings.
  • Security Cookies — for security purposes.
  • Analytics/Advertising Cookies — to understand usage and support advertising, as described below.
  • On-Site Engagement Cookies — we use OptiMonk, an on-site popup and engagement tool, which may use cookies to determine when to display popups and to understand visitor behavior on the Service. We do not currently collect email addresses or other personal information through OptiMonk popups; if that changes, we will update this policy accordingly.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, and no longer than required by applicable law. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the nature of our engagement with you, and may be extended where necessary to comply with legal, tax, accounting, or professional recordkeeping obligations applicable to accounting services providers. When no longer needed, personal information is securely deleted or anonymized.

8. Disclosure of Data

Law Enforcement and Legal Requirements

We may disclose personal data where required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities, or where we believe in good faith it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights or property, investigate wrongdoing in connection with the Service, protect personal safety, or protect against legal liability.

Service Providers

We may share personal data with third-party companies and individuals who facilitate the Service, perform Service-related tasks, or assist in analyzing Service usage on our behalf. These parties may access personal data only to perform these tasks and are obligated not to disclose or use it for other purposes.

For client engagements, we exchange financial and tax-related documents using ShareFile (our primary secure client portal) and Dropbox, and occasionally by email. These providers act as our service providers/processors for document exchange and are subject to their own security practices and privacy policies.

When you submit our “Schedule a Consult” contact form, or sign up for our “Get FREE QuickBooks tips by email” newsletter, your name, email address, and phone number (where provided) are sent to and stored in ActiveCampaign, our customer relationship management (CRM) and email marketing platform, so that we can respond to your inquiry and, where you have not opted out, follow up with related communications.

9. Analytics and Advertising

Google Analytics

Google Analytics tracks and reports website traffic. You may opt out by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. More information is available in Google’s Privacy & Terms.

Behavioral Remarketing

We use remarketing services to advertise on third-party websites after you have visited our Service, using cookies to inform, optimize, and serve ads based on past visits.

  • Google Ads — you may opt out via Google Ads Settings or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Facebook/Meta — you may opt out via Facebook’s ad preferences, or through the Digital Advertising Alliance, DAA of Canada, or European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance, as applicable.

10. Payments

Our website store is not currently active, and no products can be purchased through www.missionaccountinghelp.com at this time. No payment processor is currently in use on the Service. If online purchasing is reactivated in the future, we will update this policy to identify the payment processor used and how it handles payment information.

11. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data, including financial and tax information, appropriate to its sensitivity. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside your state, province, country, or governmental jurisdiction, where data protection laws may differ. If you are located outside the United States, you acknowledge that your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this policy.

13. Children’s Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us with personal data may contact us using the details in Section 15.

Mission Consulting Group LLC’s Service is a professional bookkeeping, accounting, and CFO advisory site directed at business owners and other adults. It is not directed to children, does not market to children, and is not reasonably likely to be accessed by a substantial number of minors. On that basis, we do not believe state Age-Appropriate Design Code laws (such as those enacted in Connecticut, Nebraska, Maryland, and Vermont) currently apply to the Service. We will revisit this determination if the nature of the Service, its audience, or its marketing changes.

14. Links to Other Sites

Our Service may contain links to third-party sites not operated by us. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
